Margherita Urbani’s work invokes pop-art sensibility paired with a profound love of typography, wrapped in bright and colorful movement. A native of northeastern Italy, Margherita is intrigued by the elements involved in balancing cultures, whether it be those of her hometown of Udine or her present home of Philadelphia. With a wry sense of humor, her comics and illustrations often explore the linguistic and otherwise challenges of being “other.”
“I have always been drawn to cities. The colors, textures, and layers inspire me constantly. Working and living in the city always gives new perspective to my art, and I wanted to reflect that in my design.”
