It launched on April 1, 2026, and for the first time ever, a woman traveled beyond low Earth orbit and journeyed around the Moon. Her name is Christina Koch, and she is absolutely incredible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But while everyone was losing their minds over the historic mission, a lot of people were asking the same thing I was: wait, is she wearing glasses up there? How is that even working?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glasses Don’t Float Off in Microgravity<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There’s a dedicated reddit forum<\/a> asking why won’t her glasses drift her face. And honestly, our team thought the same. But no, that’s not how it works. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A properly fitted pair of glasses stays put through friction at the bridge of the nose and the temples. They are not going anywhere during regular activity in orbit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some astronauts do use a small lanyard or ear-loop attachment just as a precaution in case something bumps them loose, but for the most part? They stay on. Just like they would on you if your frames actually fit correctly, which is a whole separate conversation we need to have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
